Das St. Katharinenkloster ist ein Orthodox-Griechisches Kloster, innerhalb der imposanten Mauern ruht eine einmalige Zitadelle, die unglaublich reich an wichtigen religiösen und historischen Strukturen ist.
Die Abfahrt ab Ihrem Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh ist direkt nach dem Frühstück; Sie werden dann nach St. Catherine gefahren, das ca. 220km nordwestlich von Sharm el Sheikh liegt und zwischen den Bergen St. Catherines und dem Mosesberg liegt. Das Kloster ist das älteste Kloster des Christentums.
Es ist ein Orthodox-Griechisches Kloster, in dessen Mauern eine Zitadelle wie nirgendwo sonst ruht, die unglaublich reich ist an religiösen und historischen Strukturen. Unter den Schätzen befindet sich das Museum von St. Catherine, wo es Ikonen zu bestaunen gibt, die dem Maler Angelos zugerechnet werden, einem der berühmtesten Künstler des 15. Jahrhunderts, oder seinen Zeitgenossen; ebenso wie 6 Ikonen, die von Michael Damaskenos stammen und als eine der wichtigsten Arbeiten der Kretische Schule des 16. Jahrhunderts angesehen werden.
Danach fahren wir nach Dahab, der „flowerpower“ Stadt am Roten Meer und machen eine Stadt- sowie Shopping Tour. In einem örtlichen Lokal werden wir zu Mittag essen und anschliessend fahren wir Sie zurück in Ihr Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh.
